Application Scenarios

Motor Angle and Speed Detection: Resolvers are used to detect the angle and speed of a motor.

Adaptability: They are suitable for high-temperature environments and have strong resistance to vibrations.

Technical Principles

A resolver is a type of electromagnetic sensor, specifically a rotating transformer, used primarily for measuring the angular position and angular velocity of a motor.

It consists of a stationary stator and a rotor mounted on a shaft.

The working principle of a resolver is similar to that of a conventional transformer, with the stator and rotor acting as the primary and secondary windings, respectively.

The stator winding receives an external excitation voltage, and the rotor winding generates an induced electromotive force (EMF) through electromagnetic coupling.

After demodulation and other processing, the induced EMF in the rotor winding can be used to determine the rotor's angle, thereby obtaining data such as the angular position of the target structure and angular velocity.

Operation with Sinusoidal Excitation

When a resolver's stator winding is supplied with an excitation voltage of a certain frequency, the rotating rotor's winding outputs amplitude-modulated signals that are proportional to the cosine and sine functions of the rotor's shaft angle.
